Just found out today that my 16 yr old has a complex cystic mass. It's the size of an average orange, and it's been very painful for her, and the doctor said she will need to have surgery to take care of it. It only started hurting a lot a few days ago, so maybe it grew enough, or started to twist. Need to find out if it's cancerous, or not. We're all worried at this point...her cousin had a tumor the size of a basketball which ended up being Lymphoma cancer about 10 years ago....she' in remission for the last 7 years.

Hi Ladies,

So happy i found this site where people who understand can hear my story. I am currently 18 years old and two years ago i was at school and dropped to my knees with excruciating pain, i didn\'t think that much of it because i have always had extremely painful and irregular periods. My mum came and got me from school and i started screaming in the car so she took me to hospital, they gave me a shot of morphine and i fell asleep. After an ultrasound they found an 8cm cyst which had twisted my entire ovary so they sent me to see a Gynochologist.

The first thing the gyno said was \'let\'s take it out tomorrow.\' this shocked me. So she laid me down on the bed in her office and conducted an ultra sound and then determined the cyst had gone. I kept returning to the doctor numerous times for the past two years with pain and they put me on the pill and said it was period pain. January 5th this year was the last time i had my period, obviously worried i went to the doctor.

Two weeks ago i went into hospital in mass pain. Turns out i have a complex cyst on my right ovary which has been there for the past two years and it\'s endimetriosis as it runs in my family. So now I am mostly infertile as i no longer ovulate at the age of 18 with a giant complex cyst on my ovary. It will be taken out next week and they will then check for endimetriosis to figure out the reasons i\'m not ovulating.

So ladies, you all know your own body and know if something is wrong. Don\'t let it go under the table, irregular periods are constantly looked over. better to be safe than sorry, good luck to all of you! xoxo

I've been having a long period and a lot of spotting, I was diagnosed with 2 simple cysts on my left ovary in February, they gave me bc pills but didnt work. The doctor said they might go away by themselves, i also have a fibroid which the doctor told me i should have surgery to remove it and the cysts, but he said if i want to have children do it but if not normally they dont give any problems.Yesterday i went for an ultrasound and they told me i have a very big complex cysts, i asked the nurse practioner if it could be something bad and she said yeah. I'm terrible scared, tomorrow i have an appointment to talk to the doctor about it. Please pray for me, i'll be praying for everybody.

I too am 15 years old. I went to my family doctor about 4 months ago because i had experienced 2 extremely painful periods. Went to the ER and they told me it was just cramps which pissed me off because i know what cramps feel like and these were not cramps. I have a high pain toleramce and i was rolling on the ground screaming and sweating. Ugh it was horrible. Anyways my family doc sent me to an obgyn and she did a pelvic ultrasound. Turns out i have a 3.5 cm simple cyst on my right ovary and a complex mass/cyst on my left ovary. She said that there was solid components in it which kind of worries me. She put me on birth control to see if the mass has shrunk. I go back two days from now to determine if i need surgery. Im worried because not only do i have pain, im always bloated, i pee alot, low back pain, indigestion which ive never had before and i had abnormal bleeding last week and i started my period yesterday. So of course im worried and think cancer but know that its extremely rare at my age! Any feedback would he great!

Hi,
I had some pain back in March in my right lower abdominal area on my way home from work. I went to my doctor the next day and she ordered an ultra sound and urine test. The urine came back positive for white blood cells, so she put me on antibiotics and by the time I had my ultra sound (2 weeks later)everything was normal. About 2 months ago I started having pain again and this time went to a gyn. She did a quick manual exam and said it was not gyn related. I went to urgent care the next day and they told me they thought th pain was related to my ovaries. I then went to the GI doctor the next day and he ordered and US. They found a cyst on my right ovary 1.9cm. The radiologist said it was probably hemmorragic, and to come back in 3-4 weeks. I just had my Ultra sound the other day and I saw a new gyn. I had my papsmear but no results yet and apparently the cyst is now a complex cyst. They want me to get an MRI. I am very concerned because I have never had cysts before and I am 40 years old. Does anyone have a similar situation?
